What characters can an Instagram username use?
An Instagram username can use letters, numbers, periods and underscores, with a maximum of 30 characters. Spaces and other symbols are not allowed, so the suggestions are built within those limits.
Periods and underscores can separate words, such as a name and a topic. Avoid stacking several of them, because a long, broken-up name is harder to remember and type.
How do I check if an Instagram name is available?
The tool does not check availability. A suggestion may already be taken, even if it follows all the rules. Search for each name in the Instagram app or on the website before you choose it.
If your first choice is taken, try a variant with a period, an underscore or a short word added, then check it again.
What is the difference between a name and a username?
On Instagram, the username is the handle people type to find you, while the name is the display name shown on your profile. The display name can include spaces and is easier to read, so you can use a fuller version there.
Pick a username that is short and easy to spell, then use the display name for extra detail such as your topic or your real name.
How do I pick a name people can remember?
Choose a name that is easy to say and spell aloud. Avoid numbers that look like letters and double letters that people often miss.
Keep the same name across platforms when you can, but check each one separately, because availability differs from site to site.

Yes. You get 5 free runs a day, shared with the other AI text tools on this site. No sign-up is needed.
Does the tool confirm that a username is free?
No. It does not check Instagram. You must search for the name on Instagram yourself before you choose it.
What is the maximum length of an Instagram username?
Instagram usernames can be up to 30 characters and may use letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
Are the words I enter saved?
The text you enter is not stored after the suggestions are returned. Still, do not enter personal details such as your full name or phone number.
Will a good username get me more followers?
We cannot promise that. A clear, memorable name helps people find and recall your account, but growth depends on your content.
