Which invisible characters can I copy?
The tool has a copy card for each of these, with its Unicode code point shown:
- U+3164 Hangul Filler: the one most often used for a blank name or empty message.
- U+2800 Braille Pattern Blank: renders as an empty cell and is accepted in some places that reject others.
- U+200B Zero Width Space: takes no width at all and is mostly used to allow a line break.
- U+00A0 No-Break Space: looks like a normal space but does not wrap.
- U+115F Hangul Choseong Filler: another Korean filler character that renders blank.
How do I use a blank character?
Press copy on a card, then paste into the field you want. If you need more than one, pick a number under “Copy how many” and the card copies that many in a row. Different characters behave differently from one app to the next, so if one does not work, try another.
These characters are real text, not blank space. They have a code point, they are stored and counted, and some systems treat them as letters while others treat them as empty.
Will it work on WhatsApp, Instagram, Discord or in games?
Sometimes, and there is no guarantee. Each platform decides what it accepts. WhatsApp, Instagram, Discord and game clients such as PUBG may reject a blank name, trim the characters, replace them or change their rules at any time. A character that worked last month may stop working after an update.
If it fails, try a different character from the list or add a normal letter next to it. If the platform blocks blank names on purpose, that is its decision and there is nothing a tool can do about it.
How do I detect hidden characters in text?
Paste text into the detector. It reports how many invisible or zero-width characters it contains and where they sit. This helps when copied text behaves strangely: a search that does not match, a username that looks identical to another, a password that is rejected, or a CSV column that will not compare equal.
Not every hidden character is a problem. The zero-width joiner, for example, is used on purpose to build many emoji and to shape some scripts. Look at where a character sits before you remove it.
Is it okay to use invisible characters?
For ordinary things such as a blank placeholder, spacing in a design or testing, yes. Do not use them to get around a filter, hide a banned word, copy someone else's name or impersonate another account. Platforms treat that as abuse and it can get an account restricted.
Everything here runs in your browser, so the text you paste into the detector is not uploaded. Another way to make a name stand out without blanks is to use styled letters from the font generator or emoji copy and paste.
