How does the sentence counter work?
The counter treats a sentence as ending at a full stop, an exclamation mark or a question mark. It counts those marks in your text, so the number of sentences follows the punctuation you used.
It also shows words and characters, so you can see the whole picture of a passage in one place.
Why is my sentence count wrong?
Abbreviations such as "e.g.", decimal numbers such as 3.5, and web addresses contain full stops, so they can be counted as sentence endings. A list without end punctuation may be counted differently from how you read it.
Check the result against the text, and correct the punctuation if a sentence is split in the wrong place.
Does Turkish use the same sentence end marks?
Yes. Turkish sentences end with the same marks: nokta (.), ünlem (!) and soru işareti (?). The same rule applies, so the counter works the same way for Turkish text.
Be careful with abbreviations such as "Dr." or "vb.", which contain a full stop but do not end a sentence.
Can I check a post length with it?
The sentence counter tells you about structure, not about limits. To check whether a post fits a platform's length, use the character counter or the X character counter.
Short sentences are easier to scan, but the right length depends on your audience and the format you publish in.
