Best AI tweet generators for X (2026): what the AI does, what it costs, who posts

xVirals · Published · 9 min read

“AI tweet generator” covers very different products: a button that rewrites your draft, a writer that produces ten tweets a day from your topics, and a drafting tool that learns your voice from your past posts. This guide compares six tools that do some version of it for X, using only what each vendor publishes on its own site, and for each one it says what the AI actually does, which plan it starts on and whether the tool posts for you. xVirals is one of the six; it is our product, so it follows the same rule as the others: checked facts only, sources listed.

What an AI tweet generator should actually do

Before the tools, the yardstick. A generator is worth using if the draft it gives you needs less editing than a blank page needs writing, and if the result still sounds like you. Four things decide that:

  • Where the voice comes from. Your own past posts, writing samples you add, or only a topic you type in.
  • What it produces. A rewrite of your draft, several fresh drafts from an idea, or a daily batch of tweets.
  • Who presses post. If a tool posts for you, you also need to trust every draft it makes.
  • Character limits. A post is 280 characters on a standard account; check long drafts with a character counter before posting.

Typefully: AI that polishes what you wrote

Typefully is a publishing and scheduling platform for X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Instagram. Its Writing Assistant rewrites and tightens drafts, suggests stronger hooks and endings, and learns your style from writing samples you add and posts you write in Typefully. Free gets limited usage; paid plans get higher daily and monthly limits. Prices: Free $0 (10 posts a month), Creator $99 a year, Business $20 a month per account.

Choose it when you already write your own drafts and want an editor, plus scheduling on several networks. Skip it when you want the tool to produce the first draft from an idea.

Tweet Hunter: a daily batch of AI tweets

Tweet Hunter's AI writer starts on the Grow plan at $49 a month: 10 AI-written tweets a day based on your account and topics, plus rewriting, finishing a tweet, thread ideas and hooks. Discover ($29) has no AI writer. Its help center says about a third of the AI tweets are good to post with light or no editing, so expect to edit the rest. Custom-trained AI and smart AI reply generation are listed on Enterprise only ($200 a month). It also schedules, runs auto-DMs and auto-retweets, and keeps a library of over 12M viral tweets.

Choose it when you want a steady supply of tweet ideas inside a full X workflow. Skip it when you want custom-trained AI without the Enterprise price, or no automation on your account.

Postwise: GhostWriter on every plan

Postwise turns an idea into several drafted posts and schedules them for Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Threads. Its “GhostWriter” AI is on every plan: 500 AI-generated posts a month on Basic ($37), 1,000 on Boss ($59) and unlimited on Unlimited ($97). Custom AI training is Unlimited only, while Basic lists 3 custom AI voices. A 7-day free trial is offered, and annual billing is 20% off.

Check the limits on their site: its homepage and pricing page disagree on some of them (Basic is 3 accounts and 500 AI posts on the pricing page, 5 accounts and 400 AI credits on the homepage). Choose it when you want AI drafts and scheduling in one dashboard across three networks.

SuperX: AI inside a growth platform

SuperX describes itself as “Everything you need to grow on 𝕏, in one platform”. The AI side is rewriting that keeps your tone and draft generation, alongside discovery of high-performing posts (a “10M+ viral posts library” is listed on Advanced), a scheduler, a reply feed and automations. A Chrome extension is live. Pro is $49 a month with 750 AI credits, Advanced is $49 as a launch price (normally $99) and Ultra is $199 with 4,000 AI credits. There is no free plan.

Choose it when you want the writing help bundled with discovery and automation on X. Skip it when you want a lighter, writing-only tool.

Hypefury: has AI, but not for X

Hypefury lists AI trained on your posts that generates posts meant to sound like you. But its pricing FAQ answers “Does Hypefury still support 𝕏/Twitter?” with “Nope! Hypefury no longer supports 𝕏.” Its channels are Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, so it only fits if you write for those.

xVirals: drafts in your voice, never posts

xVirals builds a style profile from your 100 most engaging public posts and 40 replies, then drafts tweets, threads, quote posts and replies in your voice, in English or Turkish. Each request returns several drafts in different modes, and clichéd ones are filtered out first. It has no scheduler and posts nothing: you copy a draft and post it yourself. There is no OAuth; you enter a handle and only public posts are read. A Chrome extension that adds Reply, Quote and ↻ buttons under tweets is coming soon and is not live yet.

Pricing is Argo $19.90, Hero $39.90 and Olympus $99.90 per month, in USD (2,000 / 5,000 / 20,000 monthly credits). Payments are live. Sign-ups are open: continue with Google or email.

Choose it when you want first drafts that start from your own posts, including quotes and replies, you write in Turkish, or you do not want any tool to post for you. Skip it when you need scheduling, analytics or several networks. The free AI reply generator is a quick way to see the style of output before signing up.

How to test any AI tweet generator in ten minutes

  1. Pick one real idea you would post this week, not a test topic.
  2. Give the same idea to two tools, and write your own version in two minutes without help.
  3. Read the drafts aloud. Mark every sentence you would not say.
  4. Count how many edits each draft needs before you would post it. The fewest edits wins, not the longest draft.
  5. Check the draft length with a character counter, and check who would post it: you, or the tool.
