Best Typefully alternatives for writing and posting on X (2026)
xVirals · Published · 9 min read
Typefully is a publishing and scheduling tool with an AI Writing Assistant, and for many people it is the right answer. If it is not, the reason is usually one of three: you want more automation, you want a different price shape, or you only want help writing and prefer to post yourself. This guide compares five alternatives on exactly those points, using the details each vendor publishes on its own site, and says plainly when staying on Typefully is the better call. xVirals is one of the five; it is our product, so we hold it to the same rule as the others: only checked facts, with sources listed.
What to compare before you leave Typefully
Typefully describes itself as a social media publishing and scheduling platform for X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Instagram. Its Writing Assistant rewrites and tightens drafts and learns your style from samples you add and posts you write in Typefully. Whatever you switch to, you are trading some of that for something else, so decide which of these matters most:
- Who posts. Some tools schedule and publish for you; others only write and leave the posting to you.
- How much automation you want. Auto-DMs, auto-retweets and auto-plugs save time and also put a tool in charge of your account.
- Where you write. X only, or LinkedIn, Threads and more.
- What the AI does. Rewriting your draft is different from generating drafts from an idea and from your past posts.
- Price shape. Per account, per channel, per month or per year, with or without a free plan.

Tweet Hunter: the full X workflow
Tweet Hunter is an X growth tool. Scheduling is on every plan, along with auto-plug and auto-retweet, auto-DMs (3,000, 7,500 or 15,000 a month by plan), a library of over 12M viral tweets and analytics. Plans are Discover at $29 a month, Grow at $49 and Enterprise at $200, each with a 7-day free trial.
The AI writer starts on Grow, which includes 10 AI-written tweets a day based on your account and topics; there is no AI writer on Discover. Its own help center says about a third of the AI tweets are good to post with light or no editing. Custom-trained AI and smart AI replies are listed on Enterprise only, and the interface is English only.
Choose it when you want one tool for the whole X workflow, run DM campaigns, or manage several X accounts. Skip it when you want a lower price for AI writing or do not want automation acting on your account.

Postwise: AI drafts with scheduling on three networks
Postwise writes and schedules posts with AI for Twitter/X, LinkedIn and Threads. Its pricing page lists Basic at $37 a month, Boss at $59 and Unlimited at $97, with a 7-day free trial and 20% off annual billing. The “GhostWriter” AI is on every plan: 500 AI-generated posts a month on Basic, 1,000 on Boss, unlimited on Unlimited. Scheduling length depends on the plan: 3 months, 12 months or unlimited.
One thing to check yourself: Postwise's homepage and pricing page disagree on some limits. The pricing page gives Basic 3 accounts and 500 AI posts a month, while the homepage card shows 5 accounts and 400 AI credits. Confirm the current numbers on their site.
Choose it when you want drafts and scheduling in one dashboard and write for LinkedIn and Threads as well as X. Skip it when you need quote and reply tooling: those are not stated on the pages we checked.
SuperX: discovery, scheduling and a live Chrome extension
SuperX calls itself “Everything you need to grow on 𝕏, in one platform”. It surfaces high-performing posts in your niche, rewrites drafts in your tone, schedules at times your audience is active, feeds you posts worth replying to, and automates retweets, CTA links and auto DMs. A Chrome extension is live, and the Pro plan includes cross-posting to Bluesky and API, CLI and MCP access.
Monthly pricing: Pro $49 (5 X accounts, 500 posts, 750 AI credits), Advanced $49 as a launch price, normally $99 (how long the launch price lasts is not stated), and Ultra $199 (10 X accounts, 3,000 posts, 4,000 AI credits). There is no free plan, and a free trial is mentioned without a length.
Choose it when you want discovery, scheduling and automation focused on X, with a browser extension. Skip it when you want a free plan, or no automation on your account.
Hypefury: not an option for X
Hypefury's pricing FAQ answers “Does Hypefury still support 𝕏/Twitter?” with “Nope! Hypefury no longer supports 𝕏.” It lists Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok as its channels. Pricing is $6 a month for one channel plus $6 per extra channel, or $19 a month for Full with all channels, with a 7-day free trial and no free plan.
People still search for it as a Typefully alternative, so it is listed here for completeness. Choose it when you publish on those other channels and want a scheduler that cross-posts to all of them. Skip it when X is your channel.
When staying on Typefully is the better choice
Typefully's pricing page lists a free plan ($0, 10 posts a month, 1 account), Creator at $99 a year with 1,000 posts a month, AI and analytics, and Business at $20 a month or $216 a year per account for up to 50 accounts. It also lists a public API, an MCP server, Zapier and Claude and ChatGPT integrations on every plan, including Free. None of the five tools above matches all of that: if you publish on several networks, need team roles or want API access, the best Typefully alternative may be Typefully.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Typefully alternative?
It depends on what you want to change. For more automation on X, Tweet Hunter or SuperX; for AI drafts plus scheduling on X, LinkedIn and Threads, Postwise; for help with writing only, with no posting or scheduling, xVirals. Hypefury no longer supports X, so it does not fit X work.
Is there a free Typefully alternative?
Among the tools compared here, Typefully itself has a free plan ($0, 10 posts a month, 1 account). Tweet Hunter, Postwise, SuperX and Hypefury list paid plans, some with a trial: Tweet Hunter, Postwise and Hypefury a 7-day free trial, SuperX a trial of unstated length. xVirals access depends on current sign-up status; see its comparison page.
Which Typefully alternative has AI writing?
All of them to some degree: Tweet Hunter's AI writer starts on the $49 Grow plan, Postwise's GhostWriter is on every plan, SuperX rewrites drafts in your tone, and xVirals drafts from a style profile built from your public posts. Typefully itself has a Writing Assistant on paid plans, with limited use on Free.
Does xVirals schedule or post tweets?
No. xVirals never posts to X and has no scheduler. You copy the draft and post it yourself. It has no direct Typefully integration, but you can paste a draft into Typefully and schedule it there.
Does Hypefury work for X (Twitter)?
According to Hypefury's own pricing FAQ, no: “Nope! Hypefury no longer supports 𝕏.” It lists Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok as channels (checked 6 Oct 2026).
